When Diablo Magazine asked if they could check out the photos from a recent boho photo shoot showcasing designer Tulle New York, we just assumed they were looking for some images to fill in their new wedding book....little did we know they actually wanted to put us on the cover! Not to mention the cover of the very first Diablo Weddings!! Between the energy of Colson, the amazing flower belt & crown, and a few bottles of champagne this shoot truly emobied our vision of a California boho bride! We could not be more thrilled to be apart of this issue and get to work with such talented people in the wedding industry everyday!

Holman Ranch // Styled Shootout

The past few months we have been teaming up with Seventh Heaven Vintage Rentals to be apart of their Styled Shootouts (you can see behind the scenes on our instagram with #SHvintageworkshop). These are opportunities for photographers to build their portfolio by shooting gorgeous vignettes that Seventh Heaven designs and learning from talented people like Danielle Poff! 

Danielle was the guest speaker at July's shoot out which happened to be at one of our favorite venues, Holman Ranch. The theme for one of the vignettes was Whimsical Woodland Love, and Beloved by Anne Barge fit perfectly! The dresses open back, romantic beading and models soft hair mixed with Danielle's major talent made for a perfect shoot! The photos turned out so dreamy- and if you haven't been to Holman Ranch yet, this is just a tiny piece of the beautiful property!

KJ Bride - Sarah

We are thrilled to be featuring a bride who has quickly become a great friend to the entire KJ team. Sarah designer and executed her entire wedding with help from her mom and wow, they did an amazing job! Sarah & Chris held their wedding on Sarah's parents 17 acre property in Danville, CA with stunning views of Mt. Diablo. 

It's hard to not fall in love with Galia Lahav, and Sarah knew it was the perfect fit for her big day. She was had such a great time trying on Kinsley James that she even sent her sister to our boutique a few months later to get her own Galia gown for her wedding! In her words, the experience at KJ was 'truly magical' 

One of Sarah's favorite parts of her wedding was the cake! Designed by Old Towne Bakery they truly made her cake dreams come to life with this five tiered confection!

Bridal Fashion Week - Galia Lahav

One prominent trend we saw during Bridal Fashion Week was art deco beading. Galia stayed true to their sexy silhouettes and delicate details to create a line that truly outdoes their past collections. The intricate details on the laces as well as directional beading really flatters a woman's body. For confident brides who want to really make a statement down the aisle, Galia Lahav is it. 

In true Galia form, they debuted their collection at a fabulous party on top of The Hudson hotel with 360 views of New York with their models as at very center. The face of Galia Lahav is Katharina Linke, and one of our favorite gowns from the collection was named for her. She was front and center to the army of fabulous models.

Tulle New York Shoot

When Colson Griffith came to me a few months ago with the idea of shooting a group of brides I was so excited to finally bring to life what my idea of a #KJbride is; fun, flirty, loves to laugh. We had to pick the right dresses and with our Tulle New York trunk show right around the corner things fell together seamlessly. Their view on bridal and current collection fit the look we were going for and I don't think you could find a more fun team to work with. We brought Angel's Petals on board for her creativity which you can see in the boho pieces she created; like a flower belt and veil. My secret Pinterest board of flower veils was finally coming to life!

'My experience with Kinsley James will forever be remembered as one of the most exciting and happy experiences throughout my wedding planning process.  I had the pleasure of working with Katie, Amber, Dawn, and Melissa (she happens to be my wedding coordinator as well).  All of the girls were so professional and had amazing personalities!  They listened to what I was looking for, however, I went in with an open mind and wanted some professional opinions.  They greet you with champagne and huge smiles on their faces.  It truly made me feel welcome.  I was the only appointment so I had the place to myself!  I love the way it looks and feels in the store, like you are in a very special place!  My favorite parts were their roomy and well decorated dressing rooms and I absolutely loved their  LONG runway right down the center of the store.  It made me feel like I was in a fashion show ;) 

I had gone to 3 other salons and NONE made me feel even remotely as comfortable as when I was at Kinsley James.  I was happy, relaxed, felt in company of family and some new friends!  It made the difference for me in my purchase.  Sometimes its WHERE you buy your dress that gives you the most fond memories and Kinsley James provided that for me... The dress was the icing on the cake.  

I would recommend Kinsley James to ANY bride looking for not only the perfect dress, but the perfect dress shopping experience!!!'

Today we are so excited to share a very special wedding!  Melissa is a long time friend and works at Kinsley James.  She also found her custom Olia Zavozina dress here at KJ!  Melissa and CJ were married in Waikoloa, Hawaii. They had an intimate ceremony with a view of palm trees, sand and ocean, then we headed to a gorgeous, tiki-lit reception.  Her sueded silk gown was perfect for the beach; light, airy and romantic.  Melissa loved the fact that Olia Zavozina does custom measurements, which is very helpful with a curvy body shape.  She also loved working with Olia personally at the trunk show to add special elements to her gown; especially the Swarvoski crystals!   She wore a delicate veil by Toni Federici, and a sparkling garter by La Gartier, both available at Kinsley James.  The images were taken by the talented Angie Capri.

Julia - First KJ Bride!

Julia holds a special place in our hearts here at Kinsley James!  We met Julia on our opening day; she was one of our first appointments and became the first Kinsley James bride!  All the stars were aligned for Julia, for us, and for the designer, Tara LaTour, who Julia connected with instantly. Tara's inspiration for the collection was "Where the Wild Things Are" which Julia loved since she is an aspiring children's books author!  We were so excited to help Julia find the perfect gown. She decided on a custom 'Tay' by Tara Latour wedding gown, and worked closely with us and the designer throughout the process to make sure that every detail fulfilled her vision. Her gown fit perfectly, and she looked absolutely beautiful on her wedding day. She was a pleasure to work with and became a great friend to all of us here at Kinsley James!

Our biggest sale of spring is quickly approaching!  The Kinsley James Sample Sale happens just twice a year so come early to get your dream dress at up to 70% off! Appointments will be first come, first served and we anticipate a line, so arrive early to get a time (appointment times will not be given out prior to May 31). Sample sales are very different from normal dress appointments; this is for experienced shoppers only looking to buy that day. If you are interested in setting up a regular appointment, please call us (925-330-9228).

Doors open at 10am with 4 appointments at a time, each with a limit of 40 minutes. There will be chairs and refreshments so you won’t have to wait outside.  Unless you arrive early enough to be one of the first appointment times, you may have to wait.  However, we will get you in as soon as we can. 

We will share sneak peeks of gowns on Facebook & Instagram, but please check our website to get familiar with the designers and styles we carry. Come prepared by knowing what shape you are going for.

After a quick consultation we will help guide you to the styles that could be ‘the one’. Each fitting room is limited to 3 dresses at a time. We will only have room for 1-2 guests per bride, so please bring your decision makers and know that dresses will not be held.

Only discounted gowns and veils will be on display; all other accessories can be viewed by setting up an appointment for a later date. Please check our trunk show list for upcoming accessories events.

Gowns are sold as is and must be taken with you that day. New breathable gown storage bags are available for $10, otherwise new plastic bags will be used. You will be given contact information for our seamstresses to set up fittings on your own in their shops. Cleaning tips will also be given to purchasing brides.

There will be no holds on any gowns. Your gown must be paid in full with cash or credit card and taken with you at time of sale.

Come ready to buy; our selection of sample sale gowns will only be on sale for one day!
